Commercial flight operations across the Middle East and beyond have been heavily disrupted after recent military strikes on Iran triggered widespread airspace closures and airline cancellations. According to international aviation reports, several countries including Iran, Iraq, Qatar, Israel, Kuwait and Bahrain restricted or shut down their airspace due to rising security risks. This sudden move forced airlines to cancel or reroute hundreds of flights, leaving many travelers stranded or facing major delays.
Major global carriers such as Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways and several European airlines temporarily suspended services to key destinations including Dubai, Tel Aviv and Beirut. Aviation authorities and regulators advised airlines to avoid large sections of Middle Eastern airspace as tensions in the region increased following the strikes.
Air travel disruption spread beyond the region as international routes connecting Europe, Asia and North America were also affected. Flights were diverted to other airports or returned to their departure points, while airlines offered passengers flexible rebooking options. Experts say the Middle East is one of the busiest global transit corridors, so closures there can quickly affect worldwide aviation networks.
Airports and airlines continue to monitor the situation closely, and further delays or cancellations are possible if tensions remain high. Aviation analysts warn that travelers flying to or through the Middle East should check flight updates regularly as the situation evolves and safety measures remain in place across the region.
